RELX & JUUL vs Disposable Vapes in the UAE: Which Is Cheaper and Better for Daily Use?

RBy RobertUpdated 22 Oct 202616 min read
RELX and JUUL pod systems compared with disposable vapes for cost and daily use in the UAE

SHORT ANSWER

A disposable costs less upfront, but a RELX or JUUL pod system only needs pods after the first month, so ongoing cost depends on use. Divide each unit's price by the days it lasts you, compare weekly totals, and choose whichever is lower.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS FROM THIS GUIDE

  • There is no single winner, but there is a clear way to decide.
  • For ongoing daily use: compare your real 30-day pod cost with the number of disposables you would actually go through.
  • RELX gives you the most flavors and strengths and, with the Pod Pro, the lowest price per pod, original JUUL the lowest price per JUUL pod, and JUUL 2 a focused tobacco and menthol range.

Introduction

If you vape every day in the UAE, you have probably faced this choice: buy a RELX or JUUL device and keep replacing pods, or simply grab a disposable each time one runs out. A pod system is a rechargeable device with small, replaceable pods. A disposable vape is an all-in-one unit you replace once the e-liquid or battery is finished. The disposable usually looks cheaper at the checkout, but that does not tell you which costs less over a month.

Your real daily cost depends on the device price, the pod or disposable price, how much you vape, and how long each unit lasts you. This guide compares RELX (Pod Pro and Pod Pro 2), JUUL Dubai (the original JUUL and JUUL 2) and popular Al Fakher and Pod Salt disposables sold in the UAE, so you can work out which option suits your budget and your routine.

What Are You Actually Comparing?

RELX Pod Systems

RELX offers two rechargeable devices, the Infinity 2 and the RELX Artisan, and two pod lines that fit both. RELX Pod Pro 2 pods hold 1.9 mL and come in 1.55%, 3% or 5% nicotine. The original RELX Pod Pro pods come in 1.8% (18 mg) and are sold in packs of two. Both are prefilled and cannot be refilled, so after the device, your ongoing cost comes from pods.

JUUL and JUUL 2 Pod Systems

JUUL comes in two separate systems. The original JUUL device uses JUUL pods, sold in packs of four at 1.8%, 3% or 5% nicotine. The JUUL 2 uses its own 1.2 mL pods at 18 mg/mL, sold in packs of two. The two pod types are not interchangeable, so check which device you own before buying.

Disposable Vapes

A disposable vape combines the battery, coil and e-liquid in one sealed unit. There is nothing to swap. When it runs out, you replace the whole vape. Models in the Pod Salt range cost AED 30 to AED 45, from the Go 2500 to the Pearl Pro 10000. Al Fakher disposables cost AED 38 to AED 50, from the Pro Crown Bar 8000 to the Crown Bar Pro Max 15000.

Some disposables, such as the Pod Salt Pearl Pro, have a USB-C port so you can recharge the battery until the e-liquid runs out. Smaller models like the Go 2500 are simply used until empty. Either way, they are replaced as a whole unit, so this guide treats them all as disposables.

Upfront Cost: Starter Kit vs a Single Disposable

A disposable usually has the lower upfront cost, because there is no separate device to buy. A pod system asks you to pay for the device first: AED 110 for a JUUL or JUUL 2, AED 150 for the RELX Infinity 2 and AED 255 for the RELX Artisan.

Category Products Price range
Disposable vapes Pod Salt Go 2500 up to Al Fakher Crown Bar Pro Max 15000 AED 30 to AED 50 per unit
JUUL devices JUUL, JUUL 2 AED 110
JUUL pods JUUL 2 Pods (2-pack), JUUL Pods (4-pack) AED 55 to AED 85 per pack (AED 21.25 to AED 27.50 per pod)
RELX devices Infinity 2, Artisan AED 150 to AED 255
RELX pods Pod Pro 2, Pod Pro AED 25 per Pod Pro 2 pod; AED 38 per Pod Pro 2-pack (AED 19 per pod)

In practice, starting with a pod system costs AED 165 to AED 195 for JUUL (device plus one pack) and AED 175 to AED 293 for RELX (device plus one pack). Starting with a disposable costs AED 30 to AED 50.

Prices as of 22 October 2026.

Because prices vary this much within each category, the upfront price alone shouldn’t decide which option is cheaper for you. What matters is how much you spend each month.

First-Month Cost vs Ongoing Monthly Cost

With a pod system, your first month includes the device. From the second month onward, you only buy pods, so the monthly cost drops.

With disposables, there is no device to buy, but every month looks the same: you keep buying whole units. The question is whether your monthly disposable spend ends up higher or lower than your monthly pod spend. The next sections show you how to work that out.

How to Calculate Your Real Daily Cost

The fairest way to compare a pod system with a disposable is cost per day. One simple formula works for all three options: what you pay for a unit, divided by how many days it actually lasts you.

RELX Daily Cost

Daily cost = pod price ÷ days one pod lasts you.

RELX pods cost AED 19 to AED 25 each, depending on the line: a Pod Pro 2 is AED 25 for one pod, and Pod Pro comes in a 2-pack at AED 38 (AED 19 per pod). For example, a Pod Pro 2 at AED 25 that lasts you three days costs about AED 8.33 per day. A Pod Pro pod at AED 19 only needs to last about 76% as long as a Pod Pro 2 to cost the same per day.

For a full breakdown of capacity, nicotine and cost per mL between the two pod brands, read our RELX Pod Pro 2 vs JUUL 2 Pods comparison.

JUUL and JUUL 2 Daily Cost

The formula is the same, but use the price of one pod, not the pack. At AED 85 for four, each original JUUL pod costs AED 21.25. At AED 55 for two, each of the JUUL 2 pods costs AED 27.50, and they work only with the JUUL 2 device.

Per pod, the original JUUL costs less than a RELX Pod Pro 2 (though more than a RELX Pod Pro pod at AED 19), but it also holds less e-liquid than a RELX Pod Pro 2. To match a Pod Pro 2 per day, a JUUL pod needs to last you at least 85% as long, and a JUUL 2 pod at least 10% longer, even though a JUUL 2 pod holds about 37% less e-liquid (1.2 mL against 1.9 mL). How long each pod actually lasts depends on your own puff length and frequency.

Disposable Daily Cost

Daily cost = disposable price ÷ days of actual use.

The key word is actual. Disposables range from AED 30 to AED 50. For example, a Pod Salt Go 2500 at AED 30 that lasts you four days costs AED 7.50 per day, while an AED 50 Pro Max 15000 that lasts you a week costs about AED 7.14. Track how long your last two or three disposables really lasted, and use that number.

Your 5 Cost Variables

Every calculation in this guide comes down to five numbers:

  1. The price of one pod.
  2. How many pods you use in a week.
  3. The price of one disposable.
  4. How quickly you finish a disposable.
  5. Your actual daily consumption.

Then compare your weekly totals:

  • Pod system: pod price × pods used per week
  • Disposable: disposable price × disposables used per week

Whichever total is lower is your cheaper option for ongoing use. Add the device price once if you are buying a pod system for the first time.

Why Puff Counts Don’t Give You an Exact Cost

A disposable labeled 15,000 puffs, such as the Al Fakher Crown Bar Hypermax 15000, does not guarantee a set number of days. Puff counts are estimates measured under controlled conditions. Longer draws, more frequent sessions and higher heat all use e-liquid faster.

Two people can finish the same disposable in very different times, so your own track record is a far better guide than the number on the box.

Which Is Cheaper for Light, Moderate and Heavy Users?

The answer changes with how much you vape. Use the examples below as a guide and compare them with your own habits.

In each example, one RELX Pod Pro 2 lasts a set number of days. The other columns show how long each alternative must last to cost the same per day, which is its break-even point.

Example user One Pod Pro 2 lasts RELX per day JUUL pod must last JUUL 2 pod must last AED 30 disposable must last AED 50 disposable must last
Light 6 days about AED 4.20 5.1 days 6.6 days 7.2 days 12 days
Moderate 3 days about AED 8.30 2.6 days 3.3 days 3.6 days 6 days
Heavy 1.5 days about AED 16.70 1.3 days 1.65 days 1.8 days 3 days

To find the break-even for any disposable, divide its price by your RELX daily cost. If your disposable lasts longer than that, the disposable is cheaper for you. If it runs out sooner, RELX is cheaper.

Light Daily Use

Light users finish pods slowly, so the device price takes longer to pay off. If you only vape a few times a day, a disposable that lasts you a week or more can match or beat a pod system on cost. The main reasons to choose pods here are flavor variety and less waste, not savings.

Moderate Daily Use

At moderate use, the comparison gets close and depends on where in the price range you buy. In this example, the cheapest disposables at AED 30 need to last more than three and a half days to beat RELX, while the priciest at AED 50 need to last six. An original JUUL pod only needs to last about two and a half days, because it costs less per pod.

Heavy Daily Use

For heavy users, cost per day matters far more than the starting price. The device is paid off quickly, and every unit you finish adds up. In this example, a JUUL 2 pod would need to last more than a day and a half, and a disposable between about two and three days depending on its price, to match RELX. Track your real lifespans before deciding.

Which Is Cheaper Over 30 Days?

Over 30 days, what you spend depends on which product you buy and how long it lasts you. Find the column that matches your experience, then compare.

Each column shows the 30-day cost if one unit lasts you that many days. Totals are rounded up to whole units, and RELX Pod Pro, JUUL and JUUL 2 are rounded up to full packs.

Option (price) Lasts 2 days Lasts 3 days Lasts 4 days Lasts 6 days Lasts 10 days
RELX Pod Pro 2 (AED 25) AED 375 AED 250 AED 200 AED 125 AED 75
RELX Pod Pro (AED 38 per 2) AED 304 AED 190 AED 152 AED 114 AED 76
JUUL pods (AED 85 per 4) AED 340 AED 255 AED 170 AED 170 AED 85
JUUL 2 pods (AED 55 per 2) AED 440 AED 275 AED 220 AED 165 AED 110
Pod Salt Go 2500 (AED 30) AED 450 AED 300 AED 240 AED 150 AED 90
Pod Salt Pearl Bar 6000 or Al Fakher Pro 8000 (AED 38) AED 570 AED 380 AED 304 AED 190 AED 114
Al Fakher Crystal 9000, Crown Bar 12000 or Hypermax 15000 (AED 40) AED 600 AED 400 AED 320 AED 200 AED 120
Pod Salt Pearl Pro 10000 (AED 45) AED 675 AED 450 AED 360 AED 225 AED 135
Al Fakher Crown Bar Pro Max 15000 (AED 50) AED 750 AED 500 AED 400 AED 250 AED 150

Prices as of 22 October 2026.

Add the device to your first month: AED 150 for the Infinity 2, AED 255 for the Artisan, or AED 110 for the JUUL or JUUL 2. Then compare the rows that match your own experience. For example, if a Pod Pro 2 lasts you three days (AED 250 a month) and a Crown Bar 12000 lasts you ten (AED 120 a month), the disposable is cheaper. If that Crown Bar only lasts you four days, it costs AED 320 a month, and RELX is cheaper.

Your own result will differ. Plug your real pod and disposable lifespans into the formulas above, and use current prices from the product pages.

Which Is Better for Daily Use?

Cheaper is not always better. Here is how the formats compare on the things you deal with every day.

Convenience and Carrying

A disposable is one item in your pocket with nothing to swap or charge. A pod system means carrying the device and, on longer days, a spare pod. For short trips or nights out, many vapers find a disposable simpler. For a fixed daily routine, a pod device quickly becomes second nature.

Battery and Charging

RELX and JUUL devices are rechargeable, and you keep the same battery for months. RELX states the Infinity 2 reaches about 80% in 15 minutes and a full charge in about 27 minutes, while the Artisan takes about 45 minutes. Disposables vary: the Pod Salt Pearl Pro has a USB-C port for top-ups, while the Go 2500 is used until it runs out. Either way, the battery leaves with the device.

Consistency

With a pod system, your setup stays the same. You can go back to the same flavor and strength every time, or change it the next day. With a disposable, you stay on one flavor until the unit is finished, which can take a long time with a high-puff model. Some vapers find the taste starts to feel flat after days on the same flavor.

If your favorite flavor starts to taste dull, you may be experiencing flavor fatigue. Learn why flavor fatigue happens and how different devices handle it.

Flavor and Nicotine Choice

VapeHype currently lists more than 40 RELX Pod Pro 2 flavors at 1.55%, 3% or 5%, and 17 RELX Pod Pro listings at 1.8%. For JUUL, it lists 7 original JUUL pod options at 1.8%, 3% or 5%, and 9 JUUL 2 pod flavors at 18 mg/mL, focused on tobacco and menthol. Disposables come in many flavors, but nicotine strength varies by model, so check each product page before you buy.

Heat, Leaks and Coil Life in the UAE

Heat makes e-liquid thinner, which can raise the risk of leaks in any vape, and UAE summers make this a real concern. If a pod leaks, you lose one pod. If a disposable leaks, you lose the whole unit. Pods also give you a fresh coil each time, while a disposable uses the same coil for its entire life, which can affect taste near the end.

Whatever you use, keep it out of parked cars and direct sun. RELX’s Artisan manual gives a normal use range of about 15 to 30°C.

Waste and Replacement

With a pod system, each replacement means discarding a small empty pod while you keep the device and battery. With a disposable, each replacement means discarding the entire unit, battery included. Batteries should not go into regular household trash, so dispose of finished disposables responsibly.

Buy Genuine, Whichever You Choose

Counterfeit vape products exist, and a fake may leak, taste off or fail early. Buy from an established retailer, check that the packaging is sealed and the print is sharp, and use the verification code on the pack where one is printed.

Our guide on how to spot fake RELX pods in the UAE walks through each check.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is RELX cheaper than disposable vapes in the UAE?

It depends on which products you compare and how long each lasts you. RELX costs more upfront, with devices from AED 150 to AED 255, but pods at AED 19 to AED 25 each can cost less per day than disposables at AED 30 to AED 50 if you finish disposables quickly. Divide the disposable price by your RELX daily cost to find your break-even point.

Is JUUL cheaper than disposable vapes?

It depends on how long each lasts you. JUUL pods cost AED 21.25 (original) to AED 27.50 (JUUL 2) each, against AED 30 to AED 50 for a disposable. Against a mid-priced AED 40 disposable, a JUUL pod is cheaper per day if it lasts you more than about half as long as the disposable, and a JUUL 2 pod if it lasts more than about 70% as long.

Do disposable vapes last longer than RELX or JUUL pods?

A disposable is usually sold with a much higher puff count than a single pod, so one unit often lasts longer. But a pod device keeps working for months while you replace only the pod, so compare cost per day rather than how long one unit lasts.

Are pod systems better for daily use?

It depends on what you mean by better. If you want flavor and strength choice, a battery you keep, and only one pod lost if something leaks, a pod system fits better. If you want no setup, no charging routine and one item to carry, a disposable fits better.

How do I calculate my monthly vaping cost?

Multiply the price of one pod or disposable by how many you use in a week, then multiply by four. For a pod system, add the device price once in your first month. Compare the totals to see which option is cheaper for you.

Final Verdict: Which Is Cheaper and Better for Daily Use?

There is no single winner, but there is a clear way to decide.

  • For the lowest upfront commitment: a disposable is simpler. There is no device to buy, and you can start from AED 30.
  • For ongoing daily use: compare your real 30-day pod cost with the number of disposables you would actually go through. Use the break-even figures in this guide.
  • For a reusable setup: RELX or JUUL. You keep the device and replace only the pods. RELX gives you the most flavors and strengths and, with the Pod Pro, the lowest price per pod, original JUUL the lowest price per JUUL pod, and JUUL 2 a focused tobacco and menthol range.

Your cheapest option is the one with the lowest realistic cost per day, not the lowest price at the checkout.

If RELX Fits Your Routine

Start with an Infinity 2 or Artisan, then choose Pod Pro or Pod Pro 2 pods by flavor and nicotine strength.

If JUUL Fits Your Routine

Pick the original JUUL for the lowest price per JUUL pod, or the JUUL 2 for its tobacco and menthol range, then stock up on the pods that match your device.

If a Disposable Fits Your Routine

Start with one model, note how many days it lasts you, then compare that with the break-even figures above.
